Keep It Safe and Fresh

Have you ever gone camping with your friends? Or are you an adventurous person that want to explore the beauty of nature and always on the go to have an extreme activities. Well, me and my friends love outdoor activities and we really had so much fun with it. We usually go to Tagaytay and spend time to relax and go camping.

Though we usually encounter problems regarding the foods that we have, it was so hard for us at first to ensure the freshness and to be able to avoid it from getting spoiled. And maybe some of you had already experience it. I'll share to you some useful tips that you can do to avoid it.

* Pack the right food. It is important to choose the right food to take during camping. Not all food can be store at a long period of time. It will be good not to bring any meat food, coz it can spoiled easily. Nuts or peanut butter is rich in protein also that you can bring without having worries that it will spoil.

* A Cooler. If you have food that need to place in a cooler, it will be good if it chilled already at home then pack it with a foil and place it in a bag that zip close, with this you can assure to prolong the life span of the food.

* Safe Storage. Can goods is what we usually take during camping. Once a can is opened, the food in it shouldn't be take back, if ever your not able to finish it all better place it in a plastic container or with a zipper bag or any plastic food container that you have.

Enjoy and have fun with your camping!

Voila - its a Spaghetti Pizza!

Last week of December my highschool friends and I had a picnic along Manila. It was such a good experience to see and meet again your old colleagues grown up and matured already. It was fun and all enjoyed that day.

Each bring something for that picnic, and I brought my homemade spaghetti pizza. Yes! a spaghetti pizza, coz that pizza was made of spaghetti sauce. At first I decided to just buy somewhere but I wanted to make it special so I decided to create my own. Though I'm a bit confuse because I also wanted to make it a little different than the usual pizza that we can buy and I'm lucky that I found that there still a leftover spaghetti sauce in our refrigerator...tic tac..haha...its a great idea, a spaghetti sauce for a pizza!

It was just an easy recipe that anyone can make. Just spread the leftover pasta sauce onto the crust and add your favorite toppings such as bacon, ham, sausage, pineapple crust or anything that you want to put with it. And voila you will have your homemade spaghetti pizza...^^

I was glad that all my friends enjoyed it and they were curious how did I made it...

Save Your Leftover!

After a long vacation and celebrations, there will be lots of food leftover... There will be instances that you don't have enough space where to put it, and due to this some might get spoiled.

I'll just share to you some little tips in which you can prevent spoilage of foods and right ways to store it:

* Hot foods can only be left within 2 hours outside the refrigerator, if its been out for more than 2 hours better not to keep it. Don't taste it, either, just to know if its already spoiled. Even a small amount of contaminated food can cause illness.

* If your going to cool a hot perishable food it should be done quickly. Don't cool leftovers on the kitchen counter, better to put them straight into the refrigerator or cool them in a bowl surrounded by ice water, then refrigerate.

* Date leftovers will only remain safe when refrigerated for three to five days, but leftovers containing meat will only last within 3 days.

* About foods with mayonnaise or other egg-based products may not be safe to eat for the next day, you should consume it within the day.

* It will be good also if you will plan of using the leftovers. They can be used as an additives or alternatives in other dishes. You can even create a different recipes out of leftovers.

* Lastly, do not rely on reheating leftover food to make mishandled food safe.

Just hope that this will help a bit for all and lets keep ourselves healthy by eating the right and safe foods! ^^
